choke light

choke light

ive had this car for five years and didnt know it had a choke light all the computers have been disconnected the carb has no electroics (never has) in fact it doesnt even have a choke ... this light is kinda bugging me ... if i have too i will pull the dash and get rid of the light bulb but im hoping someone here has a better plan ... thanks ... tao

Why dont you just pull the bulb out.Remove the black gauge bezel & you will see the bulb in the pocket reach in & pull it out.

It could just be grounded,causing to stay on.removing might be the safe thing to do till you find the cause.

try also unhooking the battery for about 30 minutes, it should reset the computer and then the light should go off. i did that when my check engine light came on, when i was working on it.

What's the voltage reading? On 82-85 cars, the "choke" light is really turned On when the Alt output voltage is low!!!!

in dash volt gage shows close to 15 volts at about 1200 rpm ... but i will check it tommorow with a meter ... thanks for the input ... tao
