trickster still cant figure it out

the SES light always stays on. I cant get it to read a trouble code, it doesnt matter if i use a code reader or if i just jump across it like it says in the haynes manual. I am going to try grounding that AC pressure switch in the morning and i will get back with yall.

It sounds like you either have a short to ground between the ECM and the ALDL or you have a bad mem-cal or a bad ECM. I will send you a schematic of this and a trouble shooting chart for it when I get off work today.

i have put a new ECM in the car so to the best of my knowledge its not that. are the schematics you are talking about going to be able to give me a general idea of where the short to ground is?

Well it is only a short distance from the ALDL to the ECM, so yeah it will put you in the general area. When you put the new ECM in, did you put a new chip in or did you use the old one?

i just used the old chip. if that is the cause where in the world would i get a new one? and also would that come and go as a short may do??

also do i just take the wires out of the harness at the ECM for the ALDL to see if it is shorted to ground???
