Question about wiper motor wires....

I accidentally cut one of the wires for my windshield wiper motor. On the motor, I have 3 wires coming out of the bottom, one is yellow, another is blue(I think, it may also be purple I'm colorblind remember?) and the last one is black and that is the one that was cut. I assume that this is the ground for the motor??? If so, can I just ground it to the firewall and that should let it work, right? Thanks for any input on this thread, Paul Moore

The black wire grounds to the back of the left cylinder head.
