84 turning signal switch problem
i need a little help here. The turn signal switch on my 84 trans am is bad. A piece fell out of the switch and I do not know where it goes. I have had the switch part way out but it was still connected to the wires and I see of no way that it would come away from the wires. If I push in on the switch (pass. side), it works, even w/o the piece that fell out.
Is the turn signal switch avail. from Auto Zone, Pep Boys, NAPA, or another aftermarket parts dealer?
Does the steering column have to come apart to change out the turn signal switch?
any help would be appreciated
thanks shawn

You might try Hawks which is one of our sponsers or maybe a local chevy dealer for the turn signal switch. You will have to take the steering wheel off and a few other parts inside the column to replace it but no biggie if you have a chiltons or hayes manual for your car.
