Need To Diagnose Rear Defroster
Trickster or anyone...I need a flow chart of how to diagnose why my rear defroster doesn't work. I get the light on at the rocker switch on the dash, but no voltage at the contact terminals on the rear hatch.
Can anyone lend me a hand? Thanks!

I don't get any current at the contact pads in the trunk trim. If there's no current there, there's none at the slide on connectors or grid. I read that the wires from the switch to the contact pad run under the carpet inside the cabin. If so, that oughta be fun getting to.

The defroster gets it power (and ground) through the lift struts. 12v power in through the driver side one, and grounded through the passenger side.
Make sure all the wires are connected to them.

I'm trying to hook up the defroster that came with my "new" rear hatch. I'm not sure if I have everything I need. I take it from the diagram above that the timer is internal to the switch and this also includes the relay? At this time I have the hatch and the switch.
On the diagram:
Is that a capacitor (c238) in line with the power lead? I've never seen that symbol before.
What gauge wiring is being used?
