need help wiring up a motor swap
Im putting a carburated 383 in my 88 camaro. I need to know what wires I need to make this motor run. I am using a MSD distributer, MSD 6-AL ignition box, Blaster 2 coil and will be using an alternator. Ive heard that I have to rewire the fuel pump relay to make that work. Where is that located and how do I rewire it?
Im going to do away with the ECM so I think the only wires i need are the alt. wires and the starter wires but i have no clue which ones they are on that very large wiring harness. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am just finishing up my carb swap and I highly recommend you get the shop service manual for your car, it tells you where every wire goes and what it does. I think they might still be having a sale at helminc.com but they might not have your year in stock. I got mine for $36.

the helms are much more complete and accurate, hence the higher cost.
In my 91 (don't know if its any diff for yours) i had to do nothing, as long as the stock ecm stayed hooked up. When i went to remove the ecm, to make room for my msd box, i then had to do some wire jumping.
Anyways, to the point; the electric pump is turned on and off two ways... both are controled by the ecm. If you do nothing, but hook back up all the sensors, including the Oil pressure senders, the pump will run as long as there is OP... this is the back up finction in the ecm for running the pump. Mine has run fine this way, and when i pulled the ecm, i merely just had to go about jumping a wire in the ecm harness to another one in the same harness.

I just got a reman 305 4BBL put in my 86 TA.
Car drives great but they had to remove all smog and emmision stuff. computer is not working and can't get any codes to display.
Just purchased a Roch-Qjet form Autozone works great does not need to be pluged in to any connections.
How can I get my car back to specs?
