i know this may be a stupid question but to learn u have to ask. i want to know what a msd ignition box does? i have never understood what they are for. so can somebody please tell me im just curious

 

The theory behind any ignition upgrade is basically a hotter spark, however on a stock engine it is a waste of time and money. Also some have adjustable advance curves. Unless you race and have increased compression you will see no benefit for the money you spend. Even in 88 the stock ignition throws a nice spark.
