cruise control troubleshooting

I have a TA-85 with a non working cruise control. What do I check and in what order?

Engine: 5.7L TPI

Transmission: 700R4

Fuse, multifunction lever & wiring, cruise control switch on brake pedal, wiring, vacuum lines, & cruise control module.
