fuel pump relay wiring
The other day I tried to start my car (carb setup) and it started but shortly stalled. I tried to start it again and the same thing. So I waited and tried again...this time nothing. It just would crank over. So I thought maybe the fuel pump went bad. I started to check all the fuses in the fuse block and they were good. But I noticed something connected to the fuse block by terminals. It was just plugged in with a fuse. Not sure what it is or why it is there but it doesn't make much sense. It almost looks like a bigger fuse. Also from reading this board I found out there should be a fuse by the battery for the fuel pump. Well my battery has been relocated to the hatch but near the fuel pump relay I noticed a weatherpak with a fuse spliced into the fuel pump relay and it goes through the firewall and plugs into the fuse block much like the other piece. It seems to be plugged into the accessory fuse. By the way, the fuse that was spliced into the relay was a 5 amp and good. I just want to know if this wiring sounds right. And what should I check for to make sure it actually is the pump that went bad. Also, it seems I dont have the computer port...at least not where I think it should be. Is there a connector or something I can probe to see if power is getting to the pump?
I had some photos but they are too big. I'll have to take them over. I'll post them when I get them.

Here is the fuse that was hooked into the fuse block. It has two terminals and was hooked into 2 different fuses.

Here is my fuse block. After looking where the wiring is connected it seems to be hooked into the "radio feed" fuse. Why it's hooked into here I have no idea. I believe this wire is the one that connects to the fuel pump relay. This is where it has always been so why it would make the fuel pump act up I don't know, if in fact it is the wiring.

Here is a photo of my fuel pump relay and the weatherpak with fuse next to it. It's a 5 amp.

What type of fuel pump, external or in-tank?
What engine setup did the car come with originally?
And the big question, does the fuel pump have power when you key up the car or when you crank it?
BTW, that relay setup looks like it has been added on to your car, not factory.
