code 34

my computer is throwing a code 34 which i was assuming that it's the MAF, so i went to autozone and got another MAF, hooked it up, erased the codes, and tried it out, but the code came back. does anyone have any ideas on what else it is....i'm not good in the computer area.

Clear your code again.
Disconnect MAF Sensor.
Start engine, let run until Engine light comes on.
Ignition "ON", Engine stopped.
Ground diagnostic terminal and note code.

Code "33", Faulty MAF Sensor.

Code "34", check for short to ground in CKT. 998 (DK Green wire).
If not shorted to ground, faulty ECM.

CKT.998 (C @ Sensor) (B12 @ ECM for PN1227165)

If this CKT. is not acurate for your set-up, just find the 5v signal wire on your MAF.

Most likely you have a bad MAF relay, either burnoff or power. Can't remember in 88 if its on the firewall on at the ECM.

i tried your steps and got a code 34. i didn't have time to check the relay or wires yet, but that's next in line.
