car wont start

ok im new here and really need help. i've tried it all. i have a 92 camaro v6 3.1 5 speed my uncle gave it to since it was sitting for five years without the sun hitting it. well he gave it to me and when i opened the hood car was clean but i crashed it and it started leaking all fluid, but ran. well to make a long story short i drove it while it was leaking and the engine locked. So i felt bad to tell my uncle so i bought a used engine off a 91 camaro same size (3.1). well the guy that installed it got it to run and sound ok. i drove it home like 15 miles and on my way there the car started pulling and then turned off, on the freeway! so i pulled off at the exit and the car would not start. then i realized that the air was on so i turned it off and the car started. started driving home but when i hit over 55 the car would start tripping, well then i got to my city and on the streets the car felt like the idel was low, now my car is fuel injected so when i stopped at light if i didnt hit the gas the car would turn off. so when i got home it keep on turning off in my drive way. then it didnt start at all, i took it to a shop and they run a fuel and air test, every ok, mechanic then thought maybe the computer shorted bought it, thats not either. bought all new sensors nothing. my question is does camaro have a anti veft fuse or something? because the car has good spark good fuel presure, engine turns but like the car ran out of gas. fuel pump good. what can it be?

same thing just happened to my bird, car started to hesitate on the highway and just died over 55mph. air and fuel test was ok (pump pressure was good and all that) shop told me to get a tune up not enough spark, had that done and its still doing it.....look into a shorted out injector or have the injectors checked to make sure that one or more of them aren't the culprit....hope that helps im supposed to be getting my bird back on monday. let me know if this helps any

if it helps when my car was started it would idle high and low and then the car would die if you didnt hit the gas. even hitting the gas though the car would not idle right and you definitely couldnt drive it like that

Before you jump right to the injectors, be sure that the fuel pump is running, the fuel filter is clean, and you have adequate fuel pressure. Injectors won't work without all of that.

many things can be wrong. Did you do a "volume" check on the "fuel system" ? You can have enough "pressure" but not enough fuel coming out of the "pump"

i wouldn't worry about the gas if it isn't older then 6 months.

I knew a mechanic named dorian that would just do pressure checks and no volume checks. Tell the customer the fuel pump was good but it couldn't supply enough fuel under load.

It maybe something simple but they dont want to spend the time going over your car.
