firebird gauge switching

i have a v6 '88 bird and have the 120 speedo, and an 0 to 80 oil pressure gauge. i have a 140 speedo laying around that i want to put in my car, but i know the oil pressure only goes up to 60 and the tach redlines at 5500 instead of 6000. can i just take the 140 speedo out of the cluster and put it in my 120 cluster and have everything work right?

Should be able to, as long as the 140 speedo is eletronic like your 120 and not mechanical.

No, should just be able to swap the speedo head itself.

when you say head, your not just talking about the face, right? cause the 120 mark and the 140 mark are at the same spot

Unscrew the 5 screws in the back where the speedo is on the one cluster, then the 5 from the cluster in the car, and swap out the entire gauge.
