fuel pump TPI swap
Im doing a 7730 TPI swap and need some help with the fuel pump wiring. I looked at every schematic and am having trouble locating the correct grounds. I noticed that the schematic says that the fuel pump relay grounds to the engine but then connects to the ecm at D1. I am wondering should the D1 connection that goes to fuel pump relay and grounds to the engine also ground to the chassis at some point.

Its a converted harness from an 86-89 maf setup so you could imagine the wiring was completely different and all ground locations were clipped. The ECM is the SD 7730 which I repinned the maf harness to and removed all the maf relays off of..

D1 is a ground connection for the ECM, the Fuel pump relay does not connect directly to D1, it is part of the ground distribution. The only wire that connects to the ECM is at A1 which is the fuel pump relay control which is the dark green/white wire

I can tell you that some of the things that I have seen in the diagrams like you posted are not right. The look exactly like what is in the Haynes manual, and on my Firebird, they were not the same as what I posted up. Here is one from the 5.7 Camaro, the other was from the Trans Am

I just want to wire it up correctly. So you say if I ground the relay to the engine then ground D1 seperatly to the chassis I should be fine. Thanks

Both the schematics you posted by the way were not from a SD setup. The year ECM should be 1990-1992. If I wasnt clear sorry.

Nevermind I think I found a good schematic for this. Its a different ecm but gives me a clearer picture.
