Which wire is for my fans?
I want to rig up a manual fan switch, but I need help finding the wire for the fans. I've read on a previous thread that the wire I'm looking for is green with a white stripe. Where do I look for this? If anyone has any pictures, that would be most helpful.

The green/white wire can be found either on the primary fan relay (on the firewall by brake booster) or on the ECM (pin D2).
Hope this helps.

I found a brown wire on my fuse box that leads to teh fans, could I splice it here? And there are two identical fan relays with identical wires, how do i get both of them to work? How do I get the wire past the firewall? I;m sorry, I am new at the whole wiring game, but its better to ask stupid questions than make stupid mistakes.

look for a pre-existing hole in your firewall (there will be a grommet there somewhere)
You cannot tap into that "brown wire" Turning on your fans requires grounding out either or both of the fan relays. You can ONLY tap into the green/white wire mentioned previously.

so do i splice both green/white wires and connect it to one wire, which i connect to the switch? Or do I need to wire up 2 switches to turn on one fan at a time?

You cannot connect the grounding wires on the relays and connect them to one switch. What that would do is that when one fan is turned on (by the ECM or whatever), the other fan turns on as well.
So you need either two separate switches or you can get a double-pole switch, that means a switch that can turn on two independent circuits. Depends on what you prefer.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help guys, I only had one switch at the time, so I was only ablee to do one fan, but now that I know what I'm doing, I can go ahead and buy the other switch to wire up the other fan. Thanks again!
