Walbro 340 install problem, see pic
First of all (A) does not seem to be used. Replaced with rubber hose. (B) is the connector that came with the Walbro 340m pump but the connectors (C) dont work. The pump I took out had tabs on top that the connectors (C) attached too. There is not anything in the kit that I could replace them with. The butt connectors worry me. Is that the sign of a hack job?

Looks like someone already put an aftermarket pump in the car. When I put the Walbro in my Mustang, it came with butt connectors to splice in the wiring that came with the pump to the original wires in the tank.

(A) is a pulse dampener.. you don't need that.. replace it with the supplied hose. (its IN TANK hose, not normal fuel hose.. there is a difference)
(B) is the adapter. if you had the stock plug still, it would be just plug and play. since you don't have the connector, cut the end of the adapter off, and solder (or crimp) a connector on there, or solder (or crimp) the wires to the existing wires.
it looks like someone already did that before.... no worries, just don't use electrical tape or anything that dissolves in gasoline..

You can just crimp the ends on, I got two female blade connectors to wire the pump up in the Firebird when I put it in and it works like a dream. I look at it like this, if the factory didn't put heatshrink or anything over the existing connections, it must be ok.

that is something ive wondered for awhile.
i honestly dont know FOR SURE..
ive seen heatshrink LIKE stuff in tanks before, but id bet money, not all heatshrink is the same.... if the "normal" stuff works or not, i dont know.
i did my pump last weekend, and the previous owner butchered the intake wiring, i ended up connecting mine by crimping the GM style pins on one wire, and inserting the wire with the new pins on it into the factory and pump connector... basicly replacing the current wire and pin ends with mine...
for the ground, i ran new wires, and i soldered it in the middle to the existing wire coming from the pump tube... my solder is not covered, but i dont see it as a problem since everything in there is a ground anyway.
if you pull the "keys" out of the connector ends, you can wiggle the pins out by releasing the catch on them(push a TINY screwdriver in the pin socket, ABOVE where the pin should go), and working from there...
