10A gauges fuse blows when i turn key
my 90 camaro vin e hasnt run in about a year because the lock cylinder was broken and i let it sit but this thing is all mickey mouse now. it was broken into so who knows if the alarm works, it doesnt respond to the clicker, but it responds to the key in the new lock cylinder...i think im just going to rip out the alarm even tho it cost me. i just want this thing to start.
i also bypassed vats and had no trouble with that so long as it was set right...and ive checked it over and over. well when i turn the key to on the gauges all respond, but if i try to crank it the 10A gauges fuse blows and the car also happens to not start. im getting power to the yellow wire coming out of the ignition switch. does anyone think i can run the yellow wire to the purple wire to start the car, or will the injectors not fire....when i turn the key i can hear the fuel pump prime...
anyone have a problem blowing the 10A gauges fuse when they turn the key?

There are six poistions for the ignition switch:
1. ACC
2. LOCK
3. OFF
4. RUN
5. BULB TEST
6. START
If you carefully and slowly operate the switch, you should be able to activate the Bulb Test contacts in the switch without activating the Start contacts. If the fuse blows with the switch in the Bulb Test position but not the Run position, check the coolant temperature warning lamp or guage and the wiring for it. That appears to be about the only device using the Bulb Test contacts.
