whats causing my buzzer to stay on
My audio alarm buzzer is staying on after I start the car and I cant figure out why. The only thing I can possibly think of is the auto meter gauges I installed in the stock gauge cluster. I have looked at a few wiring diagrams for a 1991 z28 and I cant see where there is any wire that would be connected to the convience center. it has to be an open wire somewhere. How complicated is the wiring for the audio alarm buzzer? it goes off if the lights are on and the car is off or the door is open with the keys in the ignition right? my easy fix is to just unplug it but I know that I am going to accidently leave my lights on one day.

you could always install an automatic Light shutoff. My 84 had that on it.. Never had to shut the lights off when i shut the car off. they would shut off all by themselves after 5 minutes of the car being off (when they were turned on with the car off), or imediately when the car was shut off from a running state.

that still doesnt fix my electrical problem. Thats just a band aid fix. Its a good idea and all but not my style. I need to find the electrical fault and fix it.

When you added the autometer gages, did you by any chance tap into the wire going to the gage fuse? That is the wire that supplies power to the convenience center when the ignition is turned on.

I have no idea if I tapped into that wire. I have to pull the cluster out anyway to figure out why my front blinkers dont turn on. Iknow its something in the wiring of the dash indictactors. What makes this a little hard is that everytime I get a wiring diagram for my 1991, it is wrong. I have about 4 diagrams for "my" car but all of them are different. if anyone has a diagram that may help me in clearing this cluster nightmare up then please let me know. it is for a 1991 z28 vin is 1G1FP23F??????????????????????????.
Should I have used that wire trickster

Putting omething like that in, you would end up finding the electrical problem anyhow lol. And something like that is just a nice thing to have anyhow... never have to worry about the lights again. and it is an OEM thing.. thats how my 84 came from the factory..
