what wire
im bout put bigger wire on my alternator and batery etc...and was wondering if i could just use regular power wire like i would for a amp set up i assume i can but just checking first. also what size should i use to take all the strain off would 4 guage work or would i need to go down to 2 or .5 guage. also i shouldnt have to put a power regulator or anything on it even if i were to upgrader correct cause it will only give what is needed to feed the accessories and wont overload anything?
you can do a search for the chart to show distance and what gauge of wire to use, but otherwise there is nothing wrong with using a larger wire as it won't "overload" anything. I personally run 1 gauge from my starter, battery, alternater wiring and don't have a problem, when I had a respecatble system I was only using 4 gauge which was a step up from the recommended according to the chart.

r u talkin about a chart specific to our cars or just one that tells u what u will need if running a device at x amps for x distance??
yeah i figured it wouldnt overload anything i was talkin about a high amp alt. overloading stuff...im just gonna upgrade the wire from alt. to batt. and from batt to ground the starter is still getting plenty of juice im having no problems there but i have a high power class d amp and .5 guage wire and even have a 5 farad cap but i still drain my batt. way down w/ heavy bass. i heard upgrading the magic three or what ever helps alot and im gonna try that then if still bad drain go w/ a larger alt. i was just wondering what guage i should use to upgrade to cause if i can get away w/ 2 or 4 guage its much cheaper than my .5 guage which gets pretty pricey around 5 dollars a foot.

-the chart can be seen on this thread

I would use that chart to properly wire your bat, starter, alt. as well as your aftermarket stereo equipement power feeds.

Since I have only worked with modified camaros and or shells to which I personally modified, I have no idea of what the stock wiring is off-hand. And since I am not home with my shop manual I can't help you with that, however if the distance works out on the chart for 8 gauge go for it, I know what paying 4.99 a foot for 0 gauge is like.
