The back-up lights don't go through the computer, obviously you have disconnected something else that you weren't supposed to. Did you by any chance disconnect anything down on the transmission or the gear selector switch. Have you looked at the flasher? Do your turn signals work in the rear?

I have a t-5 trany and the switch moves when I put it in rev . The wiers comeing off the switch are blue&green they ran up the fier wall and inside the pass fender wrapet up in with the computor harness .

If you wer to follow that cluster of wiers in from the fender a bunch run to the computor made up of 2 male plugs , with one plug left over to connect to the other plug , that comes out undernieth the dash in the center .This has the blue&green combo . Trickster I hope I made it kind of clear , can you tell me what runs in this other plug . Everything works but the rev lights .
I am going to seperate the wiers and see if I can get that plug free of the harness .Thanks for the fast reply .

Please note in the following picture a connector labeled C207. That is a connector located up near the ECM, the wires for the back-up light run through it from the tranny to the fuse panel and the lights themselves. BTW, these pictures are from the 85 camaro service manual.

The book that I am using is the same book that the dealers used. You can buy it from Helms Inc. for about $100.00 + $6.95 for shipping, or do like I did. Search e-bay for one and get it cheaper. The last I looked, there were about 4 of them on e-bay yesterday.
