timing frustration

Hello

I have a problem with base timing in my car (89 Trans AM 350 TPI stock) I disconnect ESC connector and connect the timing light.
The light flashes from 4* ATDC to 14* BTDC or more (furious and insane =]) I cannot set to stability timing. It's very amazing because idle is very well, reaction for pushing gas pedal
and all over perfomance is good too.

I pulled the dizzy and check the ->

-pickup coil
-ignition module
-ignition coil

things done ->

-cleaned from rust and inspected the reluctor
-new cap and rotor
-new spark plugs
-new wires

ECM not throwing trouble codes.

car not overheating, I drove 2h yesterday and no pinging and SES light from knock sensor...

I haven't got any idea

thanks for help

timing frustration
Yes, frustration should be well timed to be most effective. My timing this past week has been nearly perfect...

You may want to consider the possibility of a mechanically worn distributor. Worn bushings, loose or worn gear, and a loose reluctor may cause those problems.
