VSS Buffer and Cruise control question
Been trying to get the cruise working in my 91 Z28 that I recently installed a LT1/T56 from a 95 Z28. I have just about everything working except for the cruise and ac.
now since this was orignally a SD car, it didn't come with a VSS buffer box. I picked one up at the junkyard, and am trying to use it to cut the PPM signal for the speedo to 2000 PPM for the Cruise.
So far, it isn't working. I have switched power going to pin H, Ground to pin A, and the output wire for the cruise, pin E connected to pin P on the C207 connector.
The VSS input is running from the PCM's output to the yellow wire, with the purple wire going to a ground.
I've done some searching, and haven't had much luck finding out what I am missing here. According to the diagrams, it is wired up correctly, other than not having two wires from the VSS.
It is important to note, that when I did the swap, the whole engine harness was taken out intact. I started with a spare C207 connector from the junkyard and just started connecting the LT1 harness to the dash.

I wonder if everything is wired correctly, and I'm just missing a ground that was there through the ECM.

That someone else had the same idea, but never posted their results. Could be a good or bad sign.
Any thoughts on making this work? I need to drive from S. Fl to N. Va on tuesday, and having cruise would be really nice.
Thanks

Well I received a PM back from Mr_Dude and he got his working wiring it in a similar fashion. I still have no luck. I'm *think* its because the vss signal isn't coming in the purple wire, as I have it grounded.
Any thoughts?
