I have taken the plug off the maf, and the cars run the same as when its on,but the ses light does not come on when the plug is on...what fault code is there on a broken maf?

Well mine just broke and it threw codes, stumbled, barely idled, then just bared made it around the block and ran rough the whole way. If your MAF is truly broken its going to run horribly.

No error codes? Even if the MIL is not lit, there may be codes. Did you scan?

firebirdjosh: If you leave the broken MAF connected it will barely run. However, disconnect it, and the computer uses the default MAF values for the throttle position, so it runs alright

Even then, I tried to drive my car to a friends house about a mile away and ended up getting a ride since the car ran so poorly. But yeah, disconnecting it will allow it to run better.
