I called the local Chevy house where I live and they recommended a website www.alldata.com to me to get wiring diagrams for what I'm wanting to do.

Has anyone ever used this site before? The reason why I ask is because there is a $25 a year membership fee and I don't want to pay for a membership if it's not going to help me.


I also found the following link on another thread and had some questions about it.

If you go to that link it takes you to the wiring diagrams for a Firebird. Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for a 1991 Camaro with the 305/stick? It would be my luck that if I tried to use the Firebird diagrams, there would be a small difference that would cause problems for me.

 

Buy a Helm manual and you'll have nearly everything that Alldata does, in bright and vibrant color too.

Apeiron, I agree a Helms manual is an invaluable tool, but my copy is completely black and white text.

 

Of course it is, who would waste color ink on a Firebird?

 

That's pretty harsh man. I mean the Firebird is only the Camaro's cousin and all.

If you go on the Autozone website you can get wiring diagrams for both chassis and engine for every year car and mostly every engine combination. Theres also alot of other info as far as installing and removing stuff. I've been using a Chiltons up until now but its pretty crappy. I'm trying to get my hands on the actual GM service manual, but the crappy thing is they are individual per year.

 

i used to be a service writer for the chevy dealer here in town and i`ll tell you that alldata can be a VERY useful tool as even though it gives you all the diagrams that you need it even tells you if there are any recalls or tsb`s that need to be addressed.I know it helped me track down a few issues that i had a while back

 

AlldataDIY isn't quite the same as the Alldata subscription you would have had in the shop. It is useful, but there's nothing on it that isn't available somewhere else.
