Will a Remote Start work with kill switches?

Will a Remote Start work with kill switches?

Can you install kill switches (ignition, starter, fuel pump, VATS, park/neutral) and still be able to use a remote start feature?

I'm not sure how much those systems bypass (ie. where they tap in). I figure if yes, then I can flip all the switches back, turn the key, and drive away...

I would think that if there is a kill switch on it somewhere, inline, it would only work if it is on?

Yea, If you want to the kill switch to kill it ether way you can wire it that way, if you want the remote start to start the car ether way, you can do that. At most you'll need one more relay, no biggy...........

Sorry, let me clarify.

I want to install the kill switches so that when they are in the off position, someone cannot just get in the car and steal it. However, I want to still start the car from in my apartment, get in the car, flip the switches, turn the key to deactivate remote start and get to "regular mode", and drive away.

Is this possible? NEEDAZ seems to think so, so how would I need to install the remote start and/or kill switch to allow this?

Well, the first thing we would need to know is what remote starter are you going to use? For instance, the DEI remote starts with door locks will have or (or let you use) a starter kill relay that engages when the system is armed (you lock the doors and the little light in the dash starts to blink). Then disarm for the remote starter and when you unlock the doors so no need to hide another switch. This is done using the ground-when-armed output (-). You will need to do a good job hiding the brain and the start kill relay for this to be vary effective. If someone breaks into you’re car and tries to hot wire it they’re going under the drivers side dash. If the brain and kill relay are right there and they know what they’re doing, they’ll know how to quickly bypass this. But most remote starts will have an output for factory alarm bypass, status, or use one of the accessory, second accessory, ignition, or starter outputs with diode isolation to trigger a relay across the ‘kill switch’ you install, just watch the current the output can supply. Also, i would use a switch and relay, not just a 'kill switch', this can make it easier in interface the whatever remote starter you end up using.

I think you'll get a starter kill relay output with that one. Most newer ones have it. Like I said, if not there are other options. Ether way it can be made to work.
