What is the highest amperage factory alternator?

I'm planning on swapping my alternator for a higher amperage one. I know of some 140 amp ones but are there any higher? Maybe like on a late model or something. The brackets would be different I'm sure but I can fabricate brackets. Anyone know the amperage ratings on the new LS powered Chevy truck alts. What about any non GM one. Any info is appreciated.

not an expert on this but...

i think there are alternators more than 140A. The Car Audio forum would probably have members that know about this. If you're doing this for car audio also look into thicker power wires, capacitors or an extra battery. If you run a 2nd battery in the trunk, use a marine battery, its less toxic.

gm's new vehicles have nothing more powerful than a 140A stock, anyway.
