Alternator

Went to AutoZone for a replacement.
Returned with the old one in-hand, as the 'new'one was not a match.
We could simply not find a match. My 85-amp unit has a bracket that holds a spacer, which the replacement units simply can not accommodate. We looked at units from '83 to '90, both 'Bird and T/A.

What gives?

Thanks,

Seth

Try looking at one for the chevy engine that you have listed in your profile. They used different alternators than the firebirds.
