Does ECM control shift points! Revv limiter??
Question??
I can't revv over 1000RPM with the brakes on, I was wondering if the ECM had anything to do with this!??!?!?

nope. trans is controlled only by the detent cable. Could be that the converter is locked up, but it should unlock itself when you touch the brakes. Sounds like an ignition problem.

thats what I thought too!
How would you suggest I go about testing my ignition!??
So far I have
new
MSD coil
MSD cap and rotor
distirbutor
new pluggs
new wires
all new sensors
re-built TBI
And this did happen after I put in the new coil and cap and rotor.
Sometimes if I mess with the distributor I would get the car to work good for few minutes. Than it goes back to messing up.
Usually it boggs around 20-30mph. If under its good, if over that its good!??!
I am thinking that my ECM is taking a dump, or at least my electronic spark advance.
How can I test my ignition??
I have a volt meter

Sounds like the timing is moving around or you have a loose connection somewhere. Make sure the EST wire is plugged in. Check the connections on the coil.

EST is plugged in, but it might be messing up.
once the car idled high after I put it in park, and I messed with the EST and the idle came back down. However, I mess with distirbutor I get it to work. I mess with timing I get it to work, however it does not keep working good. It usually works for about a minute or so and than back to crap.
My Air fuel ratio jumps from rich to lean to rich to lean. Its crazy.
I am checking every single wire tommorow and I am getting some wires from the junk yard and see if they help.
What elese would you recomend???
ANd it defenetly sounds like an ignition problem to you>???

What do you mean by timing moving around???
With EST unplugged the timing is at 2 advance. Nothing big. I put it on 0 but the car did not sound happy there.

I went out today and checked every wire. Some of them are pressed a bit( coil wire). Other than that, the connections look good.
I am thinking that the ECM is taking a dump, or the fuel pump.
I will replace both very soon.
If you have any suggestions please let me know!
Thanks sooooo much.
Laters.
