cruise control
I have a 91 firebird with a 89 drivetrain, harness and dash. I did not put the cruise in it and now I realize that it would be a good thing. I am going to take this car on a summer long road trip. What all do I need to look for in the bone yard to make it functional.
I have the wiper switch with cruise on it allready!
Oh yea its TPI. do I have to get a unit of a TPI car or are they universal
Thanks Guys

Did the car have cruise to begin with?
Also, not to change the subject but read another one of your posts about wiper function / possible switch problems. Did you get that resolved? Was it the switch or are you waiting to install with the cruise controls?

For the cruise you need the under hood unit on driver's side front down low with cable, harness and hose. Inside there is a module in the dash, passenger side sandwiched in the heat ducts, just a bit bigger than a pack of cigarettes. Not easy to put in from scratch I'd think. Get a universal kit at parts stores, Audiovox is one, and they work very good for the money.

I just did this exact thing a few months ago. You need everything tom3 said, and also new brake switches, and the harness going from the cruise module to the brake switches and servo harness, assuming tom3 only meant the harness going through the firewall to the servo.
If this is like my 91, the harness between the cruise module and the wiper stalk switches is already there, but it stops at the base of the steering column. You have to add the wiring through the steering column.
