can anyone please tell me what these are

i want to clean up the wiring in the engine bay. do i need these or can i get rid of them. i think that they are relays but i dont know what they are for. they are to the right of the master cylinder if you are at the front of the car looking at the fire wall. thanks for the help.

Most wiring is there for a reason, if your car is highly modified then you can get rid of it- but if you have to ask then you probably need it.

The large plug on the left looks like its for your Electronic Spark Control Module (works with the knock sensor).

I see a MAP sensor there, you need that.

Fuel pump relay is there, also needed.

i dont use a computor. there is no knock sensor and i run a mechical fuel pump. so basicaly i can do away with all that stuff. my car is highly modified and that is the reason why im looking to clean up the wiring. it really looks like crap with all these wires all over the place. so if i dont need them i would like to get rid of them. thanks for the help. if anyone has any more info on what i need and dont need please let me know. thanks again.

Your best bet is to get a manual before pulling things out to make sure you got the right relay. YOu can download wiring diagrams from www.autozone.com for free in the repair section.

If you don't have a computer or knock sensor then you don't need the ESC module, the MAP sensor (thing off to the far right). You'd probably be better off making a custom harness for what you DO need if you stripped it that much.

i have the haynes manual with the wiring diagrams. i lent it to one of my friends but ill have it back this weekend. how would i go about making a custom harness. i dont want to have to rewire the whole car. is there a company that makes a harness that bolts up to the bulk head at the fire wall and then i could just wire up the engine bay for what i need. thanks again for all the help
