Tachometer on Crack!
I have a 1992 camaro v6 and the tach shoots all the way to 8k with three different clusters, no mater what rpm the car is at. I have three clusters that work perfectly on my friends 1990 camaro, so there must be somthing wrong with the car. Any ideas anyone?
I had a roblem with my tach up till I replaced my ICM. I don't know if it was necessarily the ICM that was causing it. But I believe one of the wires there, is what controls the tachs movement. I'm sure someone else on here could tell you which wire specifically.
The ICM is the Ignition Control Module. On the 5.7L it's located right next to the distributor. I'm assuming it should be the same on the V6. It's a little black part, wich is for the most part rectangular. I'd provide pictures but my digital camera is on the fritz.
