I just got finished replacing fan relays for an aftermarket radiator(2 fans). The fan was hotwired to automatically turn on at ignition so I rewired everything to where I believe they should be. I started the car, and after two minutes it went dead, the starter was working but I couldn't start the engine again.

I go inside and several minutes later my steering wheel horn starts going off by itself. This is a whole restoration process and I haven't had the car on the road yet but I haven't had any of these problems. But i'm positive I wired the car the right way, but that's up for you to decide. The horn should not be involved whatsoever unless you have created a really obscure ground condition somewhere:

 

Does your fan relay ground to the same point as your horn? My guess is that there is an issue with that ground and the fan is actually grounding itself THROUGH the horn. Not sure why that would cause your no-start problem, but it may or may not be related.

Years ago I wired up some fog lights and some air horns in my Firebird, and grounded them to the same point. When I turned my fog lights on, only 1 fog light worked. When I pushed the horn button, the horn didn't work, but the other fog light came on.

Long story short, your electrons will search for the lowest resistance path to ground, which can easily be through another device, like a light or a horn.

 

It's really tough to diagnose this stuff since there's so many wires, it's an old car and also since I just found out I've got strep throat. So thank you for your replies and I'll post a follow-up if I still can't fix it.

I just don't want to accept the fact that there's more than one thing wrong with my car.
