Windshield wiper motor problem

I swapped out everything from my '86 Firebird to my '87 GTA and now the windshield wipers won't work. Everything was working on the 'bird but now they only work on high and they move only a couple of inches from the bottom. I have tried two different switches (intermittant) and the switch that was in the 'bird which was non-intermittant and nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have swapped out a 4th gen column, but repinned the connector under the dash thatthe wiper wires goto and made sure they were lined up like they should.

Thanks

I keep seeing something about a drive pin, does anyone have a diagram that shows how the drive pin is supposed to be in conjunction with the pulse board cover and plastic piece?

I find it hard to believe that nobody has never had this problem.

Ok, now if I hit the washer, the wipers will work but only on high, if I let off the washer, it takes the wipers back to going only about 2-3 inches above the park position until I hit the washer again.

Klortho I don't know if you've solved your problem, hope you have.I'm having a similar problem. This is from my '83 shop manual now so it may or not be the same wire color. If the wipers don't return to park or only work on HI ground the gray wire from the wiper-washer control.if the wipers park then replace or repair the wiper-washer control.

I just recently swaped a ls1 and 4l60 into my third gen and when i reinstalled the wiper motor and hooked it up im having the same problem you are kloth, They only worked in HI and only moved up 2-3 inches from the parked position. I went tho the volt tests and all my wires where working correctly I believe or I must have missed somthing. At first I thought I was missing a peice off the crank-to-arm linkage but I have all the right parts back on, just dont know what the deal is, have you solved the problem yet? I just ran into it yesterday

I haven't yet, really haven't had the time to fool with it, but when it warms up I'm going to check it out.

Check all your wiper motor conectors, the wiring, and bulkhead connector on the drivers side firewall, make sure its clean and bolted in tight, ( c 100 ). I had the same problem and my bolt on the ( c 100 ) was lose from when I removed wiring for paint. Hope this helps
