85 Z28 inst. lights

Hi, I just signed up today on this board so I can get all of my questions answered. My first question is how do I go about replaceing all of my inst, lights?

If all the lamps are not working, the bulbs themselves may not be the major problem. The INST LPS fuse in the panel or the light dimmer control in the light switch may have failed.



If some of the instrument lamps are out, the fuse and dimmer circuit are probably working, and you need to replace a fistful of bulbs. Get a box of #194 lamps and start unscrewing.

You will need to remove the instrument cluster. The lamps are in bayonet style sockets on the rear of the panel.



You can remove the upper dash pad to gain access to some of the lamps, but it is just as easy to remove the cluster and get to all of them.

Thanks, but what I ment was things like removing the steering wheel, what types of nut or screws to remove the pad with etc...
