check out your bulbs, its possible that when a lightbulb goes out, the wire inside of it can cause a short. Otherwise you have an exposed wire touching the chassis/metal of the car somewhere. See if it does it when you turn on just the parking lights. That way you can narrow it down to the parking lights or the headlights. Its also possible you have a bad switch.

sorry to bring back a year old topic, but I have this same problem. I have no gauge/HVAC lights, taillights, or park lights. It blows the tail fuse every time I turn on the park light, or headlights...

BTW, my headlights still turn on and function properly.

Mine turned out to be a the brown power wire from the headlight/dimmer swtich that ran to the stock stereo. My brother mistook it for a ground wire, and spliced it into the existing ground. So every time I turned on my headlights, it would short it out and blow the tail fuse.

I got the charts to trace all the dash lighting wiring from alldatadiy.com.

Re: no tail lights

Okay, here's a good one then. Still related, but slightly different. I have no side marker lights, taillights, or brake lights. Headlights and turn signal are still good, but the front turn signals get bright, but don't blink, and the rear lights don't turn on at all. 20A fuse is installed and still good. Any hints appreciated.

Re: no tail lights

Bad parklight/headlight switch, or maybe bad wire/connection from the parklight switch.

Re: no tail lights

but what about the lack of brake lights too, does that also power/complete the brake light switch circuit?

Re: no tail lights

oh, didn't see the no brake lights. Might have to think about that one, I'll look at a wiring diagram.
