question about sparking from battery...

Axle/Gears: 3.23...i dunno...
question about sparking from battery...
everytime i disconnect the neg. battery cable to do something it always sparks when i go to re-attach it. why would it do this?

Axle/Gears: 10-bolt / 2.73
Hood is open, the light under the hood draws current the second the terminal is connected. It's perfectly normal.
