Alternator Question...
Hello folks...
I switched all my brackets and pulleys to a March mid-mount set-up and I need an alternator with 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock mounting holes... March recommends an early 70's style alternator, but I believe they aren't internally regulated. I believe delco 10 si and 12 si have the exact attributes I need but I'm not sure if this is correct. Plus, I need to know what peak amp output I would need for my car (It is a 1991 camaro with a 350 and an 88 MAF TPI set-up, everything is fairly stock and I shouldn't need anything over what a stock camaro needs). Can anybody help me with this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes 10/12 si have 12/6 mounts. Amp output on both can vary but it is stamped on housing and if the rebuilder did not change the stator it should be correct. Checkout madelectrical.com lots of good info!

Simplify my question...
After checking out that website which was most useful... can anybody tell me what output level I should be looking for? I really have no idea.

Need to know how many amps you are drawing at one time. Two electric fans? Fuel pump? Large stereo system? I think most of the new cars are well over 100 amps now due to the large load potential.
But I believe the SI 10 or 12 may max out at just under 100 amps, there are upgrade kits available if you find one that is in the lower amperage range.
You mentioned the battery was relocated to the truck, correct? Just a thought, is the ground between the battery and engine good?
I suspect you are using the frame/body as the ground and run a cable from the battery to the starter for the positive, correct? Make sure the ground path is a good one, low ohms.
