speed sensor not properly working
i was wondering if anyone knows how to recalibrate speed sensor for different gears...i know someone with expensive snap on scanner but not sure how to go about doin it

Thirdgens had speedo gears that you also swap out when swapping gears. These are plastic gears that are on the vss and the taillshaft of the tranny. Not til 93 or 94 did f-bodies have the capabilities of reprogramming the ecm/pcm for correct speedo output. Ask or search around on the transmission and drivetrain forum for more info.

Besides the technical article on our site, Mike Davis has a nice page on speedometer gear swaps on his website. http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28...p/misc/speedo/.
This technical article, Changing speedo gears (4L60/700-R4), may also help you.
The gear part numbers are located in the FAQ, https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/f...n.shtml#tranny.
