Vats Question

I have a 1989 RS with a VATS issue. I used a resistor to by pass the key, but that didn't work. My mech. says the computer may be locked. Is this true? and is there any way I can unlock it? Also need a way to start this car, I don't want it to sit much longer.

There is a guy on LS1Tech.com I think that makes VATS bypass modules. I think his name is Dana or something of the sort. Someone might correct me here. Just look on google for one if you can't find this guy or just don't wanna wait on someone to find him.
