non EFI Olds 455-->454 TBI conversion LOOK @ PLZ
OK so the engine has about 15,000 miles, a really mild cam, 9:1 comp so a stock 454 truck tbi should work nicely, right? heres the list of sensors I have to learn about, and figure out how to fit to the older motor. Any input you have on these sensors, their operation, installation, location, what they measure, etc. would be helpful.
1.)VSS
2.)IAC
3.)TPS
4.)MAP
5.)Knock sensor
6.)ESC
7.)Electronic distributer
8.)Park/Neutral switch
9)A/C on input
I know the VSS is drivetrain related, the TPS is probably integrated in the tbi, a knock sensor can just be mounted in any bolt hole on the head right? I'm working on the electronic distributor issue, and do I need an A/C on input? I dont have A/C.
I have a tbi 1992 RS I could use as a reference, speaking of that, I should find the book for that car huh. it may answer a lot of these questions.
