Need some help with my left turn signal please!!!...

Ok, my left turn signal isn't working correctly for some reason. Now, I'm not too familiar with the turn signal circuit on these cars, so a little help/info would be appreciated. First off, the right hand turn signals work fine. When click the arm/lever up, the turn signals come on, and you can hear the flasher. Now, when you push the arm/lever down, there is no audible clicking heard from the flasher. The left rear turn signal stays on solid, and there is no light from the left front signal bulb. So, easiest thing to do is replace the bulb, which I did, but still the same thing. I'm thinking that it might be the flasher, but I'm not sure how to check it. Anyone else run into this issue? Thanks for any help on this, Paul Moore

It is either a faulty bulb or a faulty flasher relay. You might want to make sure the connections for the bulb is not corroded.

Well, the bulb that I put in is new, so it shouldn't be that. What is the turn signal flasher relay and where is it located?

I could walk you there but I am tired. Look up and see the post in electronics about help? If not go to AutoZone.com - Get in the Zone! and you will find it. A search in TGO is your best friend.

Basicly, it's under the driver dash. You'll have to pull both covers to get to it. And then yea, get a replacement one from an auto store, and you should recognize it right away in there. It's a large round metal housing. (large as in mabey 1.5" diameter?) ...can't miss it.

Good luck

Well, there is one flasher relay for the hazard lights and one for the turn signals themselves. Now, if I turn on the hazard lights, all the turn signals flash except for the left front. So I am assuming that I have a problem that is isolated to just that left front turn signal circuit. As far as I remember, everything worked before until I cut the light blue wire behind the instrument cluster to tap into for my turn signal LED's on my custom gauge panel. What strikes me as odd is that let's say that they wire I cut is indeed the problem, why it would affect the light? Reason being is that I cut the wire right at the connector for the instrument cluster. With the factory cluster not hooked up, the turn signal still worked and the connector was *empty*.

I'm voting for a 'User error # ID10T' ....LOL.. j/j j/j...

I'm having trouble picturing exactly what your talking about, but if it were me, i'd hook that wire back up, THEN see if it works. That'll at least isolate the issue some more.

Have to bring this thread back from the dead....

I have the same issue, never had an issue until i cut the wire to put in custom LEDs on my cluster. Worked fine for a few times then the front right signal has the same symptons as paulmoore.

Did you resolve this??

Yes, here is the problem. When you pull the cluster, you will see the 2 connectors behind the dash that have the little metal contacts on them that go to all the wiring. On the drivers side connector, there are actually 2 blue wires for the left front turn signal-1 wire runs to the actual turn signals up front and the other goes to the flasher unit behind the dash. What happened in my case was that the wire that I cut was the one that was coming from the flasher. The LED didn't have enough resistance to turn the circuit on and none of the left turn signals would light up. What I had to do was reconnect all the of factory wiring and splice into them with scoth locks. Not a really good permanent solution, but it works none the less.
