Find an open space on the fuse box that is hot in the run position use a spade connector to plug it in this has worked fine on both of my cars.

Just looking at my 86 harness... you can use a male connector end, and plug it into one of those single outlet's that don't have a fuse (closest to firewall) ... again, no fuse (except for the inline link by batter... but that takes alot to burn out) soo.. you may wanna hide a fuse somewhere back to where your running it (Speaker Amp?)

I hope you (or anyone else) have not tapped into it for that reason. There's no way you'll be able to power an amp safely that way. Power it directly from the battery or not at all.

But yes, fuse your wiretap, or the spooks may know what you're up to.

Well, umm.. correct me if i'm wrong, but an amp is ran off a CONSTANT to the battery, not the ACC line, the ACC line is just to tell the amp to turn on...

Gotcha. I wasn't thinking of it switching the turn-on lead. I was thinking of people just hooking up the amp through the block to power it. I've run into weird people on various forums, so I'm sorry.

what is going to be great, is this guys is going to hook the amp up, to that lead, melt his dash out. Cry for a few hours... come on here to tell us about it, and see that we allready covered what not to do... then just feel stupid...
