need more info, does it crank, if yes first check for spark if there is no spark disconnect the tach lead a shorted tach lead could cause it to loose spark, test battery, test charging system if the battery is dead. More info will be needed to help diagnose.

If "No it didn't crank" means the starter is not turning the engine at all,
probably means a major power distribution failure. Does anything else (lights, accessories, etc.) work. If not, look for failed connections/broken wires in the 10 gauge wires that connect to the positive battery terminal, and supply all the other systems. On my 90 Formula, there are several that are connected at the main connection on the starter. Best case, that nut has come loose.
Otherwise: on this same Formula, a sensor module in the distributor failed. Most good autoparts stores can test these modules. A GM dealer charged me $240 for this lesson.
It may sound trivial, but it bit me in the *** on more than one occasion. Start at the battery, & look for corroded, loose, or broken connections.
Good luck,
kk
