LT1 alternator w/ b4c bracket?
I have read that the B4C alternator is the same part number as the one in caprice LT1s. With the B4C bracket can I use the LT1 140 amp alternator?

They are both CS type altenators, but you wanna make sure the clocking is correct... If not, you would have to disassemble the altenator to change the clocking position.... BTW, you will never use 140amps, so why mess with it... The stock 105amp will work just fine, just upgrade the altenator wire...

Please update this post with how it works out. I am very interested as the alt. in my 92 Z/28 is on its way out soon (diode). I swapped in an LT1 alternator onto my old 87 Monte SS and loved it, so I'm hoping this will work w/o chopping/grinding because this is the wife's car

For what its worth, I did some searching through other posts and came up with the B4C alternator GM part # as 10463338. When I put that into Autozone's online part # reference, it spits out DL1400-6-4, which cross ref's to AC Delco's 334-2401, which is used in 92-96 Caprices and Cadillacs, as well as some Vans (through '95, such as Lumina APV, Silhouette, Transport). This is a CS-144 140amp alternator, which I actually used in my 87 Monte SS to increase its output from the stock 90 amp alternator. I asked for a 94 Transport w/ rear AC to get the 6" case, 140 amp CS 144.
Therefore, I would be willing to bet that it *SHOULD* work. I cannot find anything either through GM or aftermarket that lists the B4C optioned equipment, probably just because it is so rare.
Where did you get your bracket from? Cheapest I could find was GMPartsDirect, $52 shipped. I was hoping to find another car with them or even a picture so I knew what to look for and/or get measurements to machine one from, but wound up dry.
Keep me posted!
