Removing turn signals & steering column fix

I have the same loose steering column problem we all have in a 91 RS automatic 305. I have it dissassembled down to the turn signals and am very intimadated from there and have stopped. I can easily take them out but replacing could be a problem! Help! any suggestions ? I know where the inverse torx bolts are snd I'll have to pull a tilt pin to get down even further and find a pin puller to do this. Should I just pull the whole column and take it in to a shop or just replace if i can find one? Replacing would probably be easier than this fix but more expensive of course.

The "pin puller tool" is nothing more than a 2" long 8-32 screw, a nut, a couple of fender washers, and a ½" socket:

And using it is rather self-explanatory once you have the pins exposed. Assemble the parts as shown, thread the screw into the tapped hole in the pivot pin, and turn the nut against the washer to remove the pin.

Don't forget to lubricate everything when you reassemble. You'll also want to make sure the pins are snug in the bores or the column will still be loose. If the holes are worn, you'll either have to replace the upper bowl section or install bushings:
