I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure this issue out, and any help is greatly appreciated. I have 730 ECM and have always had a difficult time getting the vehicle to start. On a typical morning, or afternoon if the car has sat for a while, I'll turn the key until the engine ignites. This is usually within a second or so but then it quickly dies. The next time it ignites I give the throttle a quick boot and then the engine runs great.

After a few years of this problem I finally started to track down the issue. I installed a noid light on the #1 injector and noted that there is no pulse during cranking, but it starts to pulse as soon as the engine ignites. The opposite bank pulses without an issue.

I have completely replaced the wiring for the bad injectors, from the terminals back to the ECM, but the problem still persists. WTF.

Has anybody else ran into this problem before? If I have a short in the injector, or in the wire, then that should show up during cranking and once the engine runs. Does this sound like an ECM issue????

 

That sucks. Well those injector are ground side controlled via the ecm. SO your ether loosing the constant 12v power supply or the injector driver in the ecm is malfuctioning. I've only seen the burn out and stop working all together. This is someties do to people trying to diag and back probing the injector causing high resistance in the circuit and burning up the drivers. Well hope i helped a lil. Good luck

 

did you ever figure out your problem? my 89 z has power to everything else but the injectors.i can't figure it out.
