Collection post beside the battery

How many wires are supposed to be on the collection post up front by the battery? I did an engine swap and now I can't drive more than a few miles without the voltage dropping far enough for my radio to turn itself off then the car stalls due to voltage dropping below 8 volts. Do I have a wire in the wrong spot somewhere? I;ve heard of a wire that needs to go to the collection post and soetimes gets put on the starter instead. What does this do???
I think I have three wires on the post now. And I think four wires on the starter solenoid. 2 on the big post and two on the small post?

Did you check your alternator. Maybe it's not charging the battery.
