A/C Compressor runs without switch being on
A/C Compressor runs without switch being on
When I fired up my new motor, I noticed that the A/C compressor clutch was engaged, but the switches inside were all turned off. I unplugged the wire from the compressor for now, but any ideas?
After reviewing the wiring diagrams, I'm trying to determine the role of the ECM in the A/C system. The wiring diagram for my S10 shows 2 wires coming from the AC compressor relay that go to the ECM. My V8 ECM only calls for one wire, where the original 2.8L ECM called for two. The second wire I left pinned into the ECM harness because the wiring diagram for the V8 ECM shows nothing on that pin. My guess is I need to cut that wire and see how it reacts. Any opinions? The only think I can think of that the ECM needs to see is A/C on or off to control idle RPM.
