dead battery..every day! HELP!
whats up guys i have a 91 z28. i just replaced the battery on it and havent even put 20 miles on it yet since then. I have this really annoying problem, that if i dont start my car every day the next day the battery will be dead and will just click the starter over. I originally had a problem with the VATS relay thats behind the drivers kickpanel under the hood release, so i just hardwired a bypass, could this be draining the battery? i know it wont start without it. I dont know of anything else that could be draining it because the only thing i have wired that isnt stock is my nitrous system and window switch, which i pull the fuse out when im not using it. im getting quite annoyed by this. any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

I agree with toehead, hook at dvom to the negative side of the battery and do a draw test.If it is above 30 millamps{which it probably is}then you need to start pulling fuses until the draw is away.I have had a lot of draws from power seats that can kill a battery overnight.

DVOM - Digital Volt Ohm Meter - buy one for like $10 - think I got mine at Harbor Freight for $4.95 - not the best, but does the trick.

put the red lead on the cable and the black lead on the neg post of the battery after you disc the cable. if you have a serious drain on the battery it could very well blow the fuse in the meter (usually anything more than 300mA)

I got the same problem in my '86. Changed the battery and alt. Used a light tester and the lite goes out when I pull the fuse for cig. lighter/dome/radio. Still draining power. I removed door pins, took out the radio, etc. What next. Should I buy this meter or have I found the right area with the circuit tester? All the other fuses stayed on.
