Tach bouncing

I noticed it bouncing about 3 hundred rpms or so as soon as I start the car.
It does it at idle all the way up, also the car misses in the higher rpm range. I changed plugs the day after it happened, the problem has not gotten any worse but it's constantly missing during hard acceleration???

This problem is more than likely related to your ignition system.

Check your plug wires for arcing. You can do this in the dark. Just pop the hood and look for sparks around the plug wires. My tach jumped around as you described and it was because one of the spark plug wires was arcing near the window wiper motor. If that is your problem, simply replace the plug wire and it should solve your problem. If your plug wires are old, you may want to consider replacing them all.

Curious, when you replaced your plugs, how did they look? Did they all show similar signs of wear?
