Viper alarm question
I just picked up Camaro with Viper alarm. I went to unhook battery to clear a code and the alarm goes off and I smack my head on the hood, and this is at 11 at night. Is it wired to do this, how can I shut it off for unhooking battery. The alarm was not set when I was working on it.
Also car won't start, clicks a few times and then goes. Guy I bought it from said the starter needs to be shimmed. Is that right? I just threw those shims from another car and now I might need them.

Just have the remote with you when working on the battery and hit the off button when the alarm sounds. Its a feature of the Viper in case the battery is tampered with.
I don't understand your second question???

The car won't start sometimes. I turn the key and it clicks, if I do that a bunch of times it will catch and start. If I roll the car a little it starts easier. The guy who sold it said shim the starter. I will try that but was wondering if something else. The battery is good.
